Residential & Commercial

Walkways that match the property they serve.

Front-entry paths for homeowners. ADA-compliant sidewalks for HOAs and commercial sites. Curved garden paths and pool-deck transitions. Same crew, same finish standards, every project.

What we install

Sidewalk specifications and finish options.

Standard residential walkways pour at four inches thick over a compacted aggregate sub-base, with widths from 36 to 48 inches for front entries and up to 60 inches where two people need to pass comfortably. Commercial and HOA work pours at six inches over an engineered sub-base, sized to the loads on the site plan and tied into adjacent hardscape at the joint.

For commercial sites we build to ADA specifications by default — 36-inch minimum clear width, cross-slope under 2%, running slope under 5% on standard walks, and detectable warning surfaces at every transition to a street, driveway, or parking lot. Joint spacing is set by slab geometry, typically four to six feet on residential, tighter where the run hits a turn or a transition.

ADA compliance built into the spec — not bolted on after the bid.

Decorative options include broom finish for everyday slip resistance, stamped concrete for the look of stone, brick, or tile at concrete cost, exposed aggregate for a textured natural-stone surface, and integral color for fade-resistant pigment blended through the slab. Curved walks, fan transitions, and tie-ins to existing concrete are matched at the joint so the new pour reads as continuous, not patched.

Every install ends with the same sequence: smoothed or textured to the chosen finish, edged at every joint and perimeter, and cured under the schedule the mix design calls for. The cure is what decides whether the sidewalk holds for thirty years or fails inside ten — we do not rush it.

Where these walkways go

Three common applications. One install crew. Identical finish standards across all three.

01

Home Walkways

Front entries, side-yard paths, gate-to-patio connectors. 36 to 48 inches wide, broom or stamped finish, color matched to the home's existing hardscape.

02

HOA & Commercial Sidewalks

Community walks, business frontages, parking-lot connectors. ADA-compliant by default — slope, width, and detectable warnings all to code.

03

Pool Decks & Garden Paths

Curved paths, decorative finishes, and slip-rated surfaces around pools and water features. Exposed aggregate and stamped concrete on request.

Frequently asked

Can you replace a cracked existing sidewalk?

Yes. We remove the failed slab, evaluate the sub-base for the cause of the crack — settlement, root intrusion, missing or undersized joint, inadequate compaction — correct the underlying issue, and pour a new section that ties cleanly into the surrounding walk at the joint.

Do I need a permit for sidewalks adjacent to the street?

For most public-right-of-way work, yes. Pinal County and the surrounding municipalities require a permit when the walk is in or abutting the public ROW. We handle the permit application as part of the bid on HOA and commercial jobs, and we walk homeowners through the process on residential.

What are the ADA specs for commercial sidewalks?

Standard commercial spec is 36-inch minimum clear width (we recommend 48 where space allows), cross-slope no greater than 2%, running slope no greater than 5% on standard walks, and detectable warning surfaces at every transition to a street, driveway, or parking lot. Tighter specs apply to curb ramps and accessible routes through parking areas.

What decorative finish options are available?

Four standard finishes: broom (the everyday slip-resistant workhorse), stamped concrete (stone, brick, or tile patterns), exposed aggregate (natural stone surface), and integral color (pigment blended through the mix so the color does not wear off with the surface). We can also combine — for example, a broom-finished main walk with a stamped border at the entry.

How long does installation take?

A standard 50-foot residential walkway pours in a single day once sub-base prep and forms are complete. Light foot traffic at seven days, full design strength at 28 days. Commercial and HOA walks scale with square footage but follow the same cure schedule — we will not let a slab carry load before the mix design says it is ready.
